Slip of the Tongue

Slip of the Tongue
Anatomy Sramble 2

Just a quick little chop that didn't really do as well as I had hoped.
Still, I quite like the way it came out.

Bloodthirsty Lizard

A recent visit to the Hartebeespoort Dam Snake and Animal Park led to the discovery of a rather unusual sign.

(I apologise for the really awful quality of the photo. I forgot my camera at home and had to make do with my cellphone)

EASTERN BLUE TONGUED LIZARD
Tiliqua scincoides

A common lizard in Eastern Australia growing to a maximum length of over 30cm. Aptly named because of their tongues which is bright blue in colour. They kill many people on a regular basis by attacking motor vehicles travelling at high speeds. If you come across this lizard in your car and do not wish to be killed - slow down and act dead! Their diet consists of cars and occasionally they attack trucks as well. By now you are well aware that you are not safe standing here looking at this vicious animal for it can easily break through the 5mm viewing glass - have a nice day!
It is definitely a prank, but whether it was done by the staff or a by visitor remains a mystery.
After all, how many people really read much more than the name if the animal inside looks like this?

Disconcerting

Driving home from work yesterday, I got stuck behind a big blue truck, that regardless of it's snail-like pace, insisted on driving in the middle lane.

As I got closer to it's backside, I noticed that there were stickers with the radioactive icon on it pasted all over the truck.

The scary part was the fact that little spongelike things kept on blowing off the truck and onto the surrounding cars.

Needless to say, I got out of there as quickly as I could.

Curry and Blue Rice

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This is just further proof that I am part of a delightfully weird family. A few nights ago, supper was traditional South African 'Kerrie en Rys' (For non-SA's, this is lightly curried mince with potatoes, raisins and apricots, usually served with rice and lots of Mrs Ball's Chutney.)

Thing is, we all like brown rice, while my father is an adamant white rice supporter.
Solution: Cook a combination of the 2 and get your sister to sneak a few drops of blue food colouring into the mix.
This resulted in a delicious meal with a wonderfully retro 80's colour scheme, that left the whole family extolling the virtues of blue rice as opposed to boring, normal rice.

Of course, this just reaffirmed my co-workers' suspicions as to my overall sanity, but since I am a designer, weirdness is almost part of the job description.

And much thanks to The Saturnyne for his timely advice. I was getting really agitated with Hello and am now very much enthralled by Imageshack. This might not count as the unexpected eternal gratefulness, but it is still a big thank you. I might have to send you some freshly drawn chocolates now.
